an All-inclusive Itinerary in Belize

scroll_down_arrow.svg
Bridging the gap between Latin America and the Caribbean islands that surround it, the diversity of Belize is apparent at almost every turn. Many travelers today are seeking vacations that transcend the ordinary. All-inclusive vacation packages are great options, they eliminate the time and stress associated with planning an entire vacation. What’s more, all-inclusive packages provide excellent value, allowing you to pay one flat price for your accommodation, meals, drinks, and usually tours as well. To customize your all-inclusive package, allowing you to get the most out of your vacation, you simply need to ask yourself the right questions. To get started check out our tips for creating all-inclusive experiences that include fun, drinks, activities, and more.
1.
Location
Take some time to consider what you really want to get out of your trip and let that guide you in choosing the right destination. For a rather small country set along the Caribbean coastline, Belize fits many of the desired checklists, boasting both idyllic beaches and impressive jungle vistas. As you travel the country you’ll be struck by the diversity of the land and the people. Ensure that when you choose a property you enquire if they have all-inclusive or meal-inclusive plans available which will enhance your experience and take the hassle out of walking around the property with cash.

Choosing Your Resort
After you’ve decided on a location, continue to narrow things down by looking at the resort services and amenities. Ask yourself what specific features do you want or need? Are you traveling alone or with others? Some resorts for example are geared towards families while others are adult-only. If you are not quite sure where to stay or which tours or amenities to choose from, consulting with a Destination Marketing Company (DMC) will assist you in making sure that every detail is captured or included. They’re great to work with especially for hosting larger travel groups.

3.
Airport Transfers
Depending on where you’re staying, it’s important to work out how you’re going to get there. Resorts that offer airport transfers are especially convenient for first-time visitors. In most cases road transfer is available, for others a short domestic flight from the international airport may be required. Do a quick search to ensure that airport transportation is included in your package, if you’re unsure, talk to your booking agent to confirm.

Let your hobbies be your guide
Ask yourself - What do you like? What do you normally enjoy doing in your spare time? Do you love trying new things? If you don’t necessarily want to be on the go every day, look for resorts that also offer on-site activities. Each region within Belize offers unique opportunities for fishing enthusiasts, dive enthusiasts, or adventure travelers. Immerse yourself in the many cultural experiences, such as ethnic cooking classes, chocolate making, dance classes, and drumming lessons. If paddleboarding on a river in the jungle or pickleball is your pleasure, a quick scan of the amenities will reveal what each property has to offer.

Food
Since a good or bad food experience can make or break a trip, get you an all-inclusive with a great on-site restaurant. And in Belize, there are some really great options to choose from. Guests can enjoy a variety of traditional Belizean dishes using local ingredients through special farm-to-table experiences that brings produce directly from the farm or shores. Given some properties' proximity to the sea, the on-site restaurants make wonderful use of fresh fish and other exotic seafood in the staging of their menu.

6.
High or Low Season?
This is another critical decision to make when planning your trip. In reality, there’s no wrong time to visit Belize so it may boil down to individual preference. The high season simply refers to a period whereby you’re most likely to see a large volume of guests. It follows the school schedule so it’s typically December through to May and may include Spring Break, and summer vacation. These are the times of the year when most people and families are able to travel. The prices tend to be slightly higher but, many resorts offer discount packages and deals during this period.
